Moving Day Has Arrived!

Charles Kartchner of Edgar Springs was the first TCMH inpatient to move into a new room on the medical surgical floor of the hospital’s new construction.

Mr. Kartchner’s wife and daughter and members of the TCMH nursing staff wheeled Mr. Kartchner and his belongings to room 222, a sunshine filled room on the South side of the building.

Mr. Kartchner opted to try out the brand new patient recliners rather than get into bed.

Two thumbs up!

Shortly after Mr. Kartchner was settled in, a parade of carts with flowers and personal belongings and staff assisting patients in wheelchairs began making its way to the new medical surgical floor. Many members of the nursing staff were assisting with the move–surgery, nurse managers, extra medical surgical staff members along with members of the IT department, physical therapy and others. It was a team effort, and everyone was excited about making the move.

By the end of this afternoon 10 to 12 TCMH inpatients will be settled into their new rooms depending upon whether or not one or two the current patients are discharged today. A new era in inpatient care at TCMH has begun!
