A New Roof with a View, Too

There’s been a peculiar scent in the air of the TCMH front lobby and physical therapy and cardiopulmonary departments this week. The peculiar smell comes from the work being done where the current hospital connects to the new construction.

Protective covering is being added where the awning was removed late last year…all in preparation to complete the exterior of the new construction.

The photographer’s vantage point for the previous photos was actually from the roof of the new construction, and boy, does it have a view!

The first layer of the new roof is down–the ridged steel material that you can see here. Another layer of material will go down on the steel, a layer of light concrete will go on top of that, and the final roof will go on top of the concrete.
The red box-like areas shown on the roof are the future homes of air conditioning units.

The roof of the expansion offers the best view of town that can be found. And it makes the old hospital roof seem so very far away.

Please bear with us and excuse our peculiar scents as we finish our roof work and build the patient care area of the future in Texas County.
