TCMH seeks permission to add temporary west exit

The Houston City Council is considering a request from Texas County Memorial Hospital to allow traffic exit its rear parking lot temporarily through the Lilly View Addition. TCMH, which is about to start an $18 million construction project, was unable to obtain an easement from a property owner on the southeast corner of its campus and is seeking a temporary solution to relieve traffic in the area.

Wes Murray, TCMH CEO, told the council Tuesday night the solution would be a convenience for hospital employees and patients. Before the meeting, Murray said he’d talked to two neighbors closest to the hospital drive, and neither objected.

The council plans to canvass others in the area to see if any one has any objection to helping the hospital with its parking lot exit situation.
