The brick layers working on the TCMH construction project have been laying bricks for many weeks now, but their work is about through.
Last week, Wes Murray, TCMH CEO, got involved in a little brick laying of his own while looking at the construction site. He had so much fun placing a brick on the future face of TCMH that he invited Doretta Todd-Willis, TCMH chief nursing officer, and Linda Pamperien, TCMH chief financial officer, to also place a brick before the brick laying was complete.
Mike from South Barnes Masonry in Springfield provided a little tutorial and placed some mud in key places before Doretta and Linda placed their bricks.

Placing some mud in the correct location (this happens to be on the front of the construction, near emergency room windows).

Mike grabs a brick for the job. He believes that anyone involved in a project ilke a home or other structure should have the opportunity to lay a brick before the structure is complete.
Doretta got the first honors of placing a brick.
Now that’s the smile of someone that’s looking forward to new patient care areas at TCMH!
Linda’s opportunity to lay a brick was up next.
And that’s the smile of someone that’s looking forward to additional revenues the hospital expansion will bring!
After laying the bricks, Linda and Doretta signed them, too!
Wes, Doretta and Linda wouldn’t let Joleen Durham, TCMH chief photographer, leave the site without laying a brick, too.

Joleen places her brick next to Linda’s with a dominant left hand. Mike tried to recruit Joleen to help finish the job. “A left handed brick layer is hard to find,” he said.
Finally, the smile of someone that’s considering a career in brick laying after publishing photos from a little TCMH brick laying adventure.
